Brainstorm Comics and Gaming, in an effort to help you find quality reading material, is doing a series of videos which we call “Why Aren’t You Reading….?” Our goal is to spotlight books that might have slipped under your radar, but are definitely worth investing the time and money in. Due to our recent move, I hadn’t posted about our last two videos–Red Hood and the Outlaws and Die.
Thank you for watching the videos. If you like the videos, please share to let others know about the great books they may be passing up. Meanwhile, here are the videos I hadn’t posted yet.
RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS
Jason Todd is operating in Gotham City and as a result he is operating under the Dark Knight’s rules. Red Hood is accustomed to working further outside the boundaries of the law than Batman, so can he co-exist with these handcuffs on him? Find out as the former Robin attempts to bring down Black Mask, adding a few (reluctant) outlaws to his merry band along the way. Written by Scott Lobdell with art by Dexter Soy, this is a great book for people who love team dynamics with visually appealing art.
Written by Kieron Gillen with art by the ever impressive Stephanie Hans, this book is an interesting mixture of Jumanji and Stranger Things. During a 16th birthday party, a group of friends gather to play a special version of Dungeons and Dragons only to literally get sucked into the game. Two years later, all but one of them return, unwilling to discuss what happened in the intervening years. Years later, the group gathers again on the same person’s birthday only to be swept back into the game once more.
