Despite being a light week, there’s an abundance of quality books that are lining the new release wall this Wednesday. One of the most anticipated books on Infinite Frontier’s schedule for me was this one by rising star Stephanie Phillips. Harley is trying to make amends for the sins of her past by helping Gotham City recover from the devastating events of Joker War. Will Gotham be excited about Joker’s former right hand woman returning to the city, though?

1. Teen Titans Academy #1

This is one of the books I have been waiting for since Infinite Frontier was first announced. I am a big fan of the original 2000’s Teen Titans tv show so it is dream come true seeing Red X finally in the comics. This book also has the original 5 from the show (Dick Grayson, Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven) coming back as teachers for a new generation of titans. But the big question is… who is Red X?!

Like I said last week both of the big 2 have been putting out great color focused anthology books and now we have Carnage. This looks to be a very mature violent series as Carnage was always intended. There is some great talent attached to this book (Al Ewing and Tini Howard just to name a few!). There are also some awesome variants that you are going to want to pick up. Let there be Carnage!

I have high hope’s for this book and there are also a lot of gorgeous variants to sweeten the pot. Remember in space no one can hear you scream!

3. Teen Titans Academy #1

Jake and I usually go out of our way to avoid picking the same books as our pals here but we can’t help it in this case. If you follow our picks you know strange academy is a current favorite. You can’t ignore the similar setup here. This has potential to be so much fun in light of the new tone and direction DC is taking. This may be the series that hooks Jake on DC.

3. Detective Comics #1034

I was a big fan of Mariko Tamaki’s dark detective run in future state so i am eager to see what she will do with the Batman in detective comics. Expect the new mayor Nakano to stand his ground against vigilantism in Gotham and to see how Batman operates in a Gotham that does not want the Batman. Featuring a mini story of Damian Wayne, as he deals with separating himself from robin and exploring his league of shadows heritage!
