One of our favorite things to do at the shop is sharing our weekly pull lists and must reads with one another. It’s one of the best ways we’ve been finding new things to read or even reasons to return to old favorites. We thought it
would be fun to start sharing our weekly picks of books we’re most excited about. Our hope is that in sharing our excitement you might discover something new to add to your list. Check back weekly on Tuesday evenings for lists from
John, Chandler and Jason & Jake. Each has a different background and perspective to share.
Spoiler alert: Also check back in the weeks to come for a chance to win some cool prizes including some of the books we’ll feature on our lists.

1. Infinite Frontier #0
DC fans, I have read this issue and I can state without hyperbole or sales hype that if the DCU of the last 10 years has disappointed you in any way, you will be unquestionably thrilled at what happens. The return of many characters along with a sentiment of hope that rivals that of Geoff Johns’ DC Rebirth. As I read this book,I literally smiled and cheered. Here’s hoping the optimistic DCU of pre-Dan Didio is here for good this time.

3. Fear Case #2
The first issue of this book was absolutely amazing. A suitcase shows up at the sites of unspeakable tragedy, making it one of the FBI’s oldest and most infuriating cases. Well-written and an engrossing tead–a must pick up for any comic fan.

1. Infinite Frontier #0
After 2 months of future state we are finally discovering what will happen in the present day DC universe after the events of Death Metal. I am very excited to see what happens in this issue and what will happen to some of my favorite characters.
2.Nocterra #1
Scott Snyder and Tony S. Daniel. That alone would get me to pick up this book but the description takes it a step further.
“Ten years after the world is plunged into an everlasting night that turns all living creatures into monstrous shades, the only way to survive is to stay close to artificial light. Enter Valentina “Val” Riggs, a skilled ferryman who transports people and goods along deadly unlit roads with her heavily illuminated eighteen wheeler.” How can you pass that up!?
3. Sensational Wonder Woman #1
This is an anthology series for Wonder Woman’s 80th anniversary. Wonder Woman is one of my all time favorite characters so I am very excited to see her paired up with rising star Stephanie Phillips. With a gorgeous cover by Yasmine
Putri and a really interesting story with a cool guest star. What more could you ask for?
1. King in Black: Gwenom vs. Carnage #3
Another fun king in black tie in book. I think this is a title that surprised Jake and I both. We weren’t expecting much when reading issue 1 but it quickly rose up to our favorites list. Alternate dimensions, symbiotes, MJ and Gwen
plus all that king in black craziness in the type of story that would only be found in comics.

2. King In Black Captain America #1
We’re still enjoying king in black and squeezing every bit of fun as we can out of it as it draws near a close. The solicit for this one sounds interesting and seems like it might be more street level battling going on among the spectacle. Sounds like Cap has some issues to work through luckily Bucky and Sam are along for the ride on this one.

3. Brzrkr #1
Ok so I need to preface this with this is primary a Dad pick for this one. I’ve read it (and I’ll let Jake read it) but this is not really a kid friendly book so I can’t recommend it as such. That said as soon as I heard Keanu was
involved in a comic book I was intrigued. The hype is way up on this one and ultimately it’s a really fun read. Some have compared it to highlander but I think it’s much closer to The Old Guard. Lots of action, blood, violence and
Keanu. I don’t really need much more out of this to enjoy it.
