One of our favorite things to do at the shop is sharing our weekly pull lists and must reads with one another. It’s one of the best ways we’ve been finding new things to read or even reasons to return to old favorites. We thought it
would be fun to start sharing our weekly picks of books we’re most excited about. Our hope is that in sharing our excitement you might discover something new to add to your list. Check back weekly on Tuesday evenings for lists from
John, Chandler and Jason & Jake. Each has a different background and perspective to share.
Spoiler alert: Also check back in the weeks to come for a chance to win some cool prizes including some of the books we’ll feature on our lists.

1. Jenny Zero #1
what if you crossed Godzilla with The Simple Life? Jenny Tetsuo is the partying child of superhero Mega Commander Zero who washed out in the military. Now the kaiju are back. Can Jenny clean up her life long enough to save the planet?
2. Batman Scooby-Doo Mysteries #1
I was always a fan of when Scooby Doo drop ins from various famous people, fictional and real, so I’m on-board here. My son has been introduced to the character recently so I’ll see what he thinks of this one as well.
3. Joker #2
The 1st issue of this was amazing. I was scared that Joker would be on every page doing Joker things but instead, he was in the background, a threat that lingered. I’m hoping that remains throughout the whole series, amping up Joker’s stoking of fear in the characters and the reader.
1. Batman The Detective #1
This book takes Batman on an adventure in Europe. It is a 6 issue mini-series which is always a plus if your worried about filling up your pull box. This book is written by Tom Taylor and the art is by Andy Kubert. That alone should
make you pick up this book. I am excited for a fun new Batman series.

2. Spider-Man Spider’s Shadow #1
What if Peter Parker became Venom? That is the question this book asks written by one of my favorites Chip Zdarsky. This is a great new take by an author that hopefully may take over for Venom now that Cates is moving on. (No confirmation
or news on that. Just wishful thinking.)
3. Joker #2
The first issue of this was so strong that it is making my list of picks again. There are 2 stories in this book. The main story written by James Tynion and gorgeous art by Guillem March. The backup story focuses on Punchline, is written by Mirka Adolfo, and is just as good as the main title.
1.Spider-Man Spider’s Shadow #1
One of our favorite writers in Chip Zdarksy taking on a What If Tale covering Peter Parker accepting venom. We’re in big time. Can’t wait to see Chip’s take on this.
2. Daredevil #29
Two of Chip’s books make our list this week! This is the book that introduced us to his fantastic storytelling and it remains a monthly favorite for both Jake and I.
3. Challenge Of The Super Sons #1
A DC book on our weekly list! We both love the original series before they screwed up and aged Jonathan. We’re still hoping DC realizes they screwed up and fixed it! Looking forward to a proper super sons read.
1. Batman The Detective #1
Batman finds himself fighting crime in Europe after a deadly crime draws him to the continent that hits to close to home for Bruce Wayne. Legendary Comic writer Tom Taylor is taking on the caped crusader where he will throw some new villains and new allies Batman’s way.
2. Challenge of The Super Sons #1
Challenge of the Supersons- Tomasi is back! The surpersons are finally returning right where they left off. A young Jonathon Kent is back where he belongs and I’m so excited to finish off the wonderful arc tomasi had started. Jonathan
Kent and Damian Wayne take on a new odyssey that will see both characters grow!
3. Batman Urban Legends #2
Chip Zdarsky continues his take on the other heroes that occupy Gotham and it has been fantastic. He is easily becoming one of my favorite writers right now and his portfolio is becoming stronger with each story. Also, his take on
Red hood is some of the best writing that is upon the character and makes me hope for a solo red hood story written by Zdarsky!
