One of our favorite things to do at the shop is sharing our weekly pull lists and must reads with one another. It’s one of the best ways we’ve been finding new things to read or even reasons to return to old favorites. We thought it
would be fun to start sharing our weekly picks of books we’re most excited about. Our hope is that in sharing our excitement you might discover something new to add to your list. Check back weekly on Tuesday evenings for lists from
John, Chandler and Jason & Jake. Each has a different background and perspective to share.

John’s Picks

Chandler has been reading and collecting for several years now. Long time customer who joined the Brainstorm team this year.
Jason & Jake’s Picks
Father and son (11yo) duo who started out as Brainstorm customers interested in D&D and MTG. Jason used to read comics off an on but only recently returned as he began reading and collecting as a father son activity with Jake.

Began collecting and reading comics at the age of 8. Comics helped start his love of action figure collecting and photography You’ll most often find Balmory at our downtown location.
1. Nightwing #79
After last issue, Dick Grayson is given a new status quo. What will he do with his newfound wealth? And what about the new mayor of Bludhaven? While I’ve never read the character other than his guest appearances here and there, Tom
Taylor made it easy to dive in without getting lost. I’m excited to see where the titles goes.
2. The Girls Of Dimension 13 #1
This one sounds entertaining. A house in New York is the pathway to 12 other dimensions. Abraxis has bound them to his will. Meanwhile, the gatekeeper who is supposed to be guarding the portal has gone missing. Four young women who don’t know each other or the powers they possess are brought together to fill the void. Will they succeed? Let’s hope so–for our own good.
3. Way Of X #1
There are some mysterious happenings going on in the shadows for the mutants. Who is the Patchwork Man? Why do children claim they feel him in their heart? Nightcrawler knows something is amiss and is determined to find the answers. X-fans will be happy to see Blink accompanying everyone’s favorite mutant teleporter.
1. Carnage Black White and Blood #2
I really enjoyed the first issue and this one continues the trend of great writers and artists. The Daredevil team joins the book as well as rising superstar Ram V. If you love Carnage this is a really cool book!

2. Women of Marvel #1
This is a really cool one shot focusing on all of the amazing women that make up the Marvel Universe. This book is also special because everyone who is working on it is also female. There are great characters, great writers, and amazing
variants. Everything you want in a one shot.

3. The Many Deaths Of Laila Starr #1
This book deals with the fine line between life and death. Humanity has come very close to discovering immortality which causes the avatar of death to be fired. She is then moved into the body of Laila Starr, a normal human living in Mumbai. She has found the exact place where the creator of immortality will be born. Will she permanently change the course of history or does an even more shocking fate await her? I have really enjoyed Ram V’s run on Justice League Dark and I’m excited to see where he takes this book.
1.Carnage Black White and Blood #1
Great writers and artists tackling a collection of short stories featuring Carnage. Last issue was great excited to read more. A great jumping on point to learn more about carnage.
2. Batman Fortnite Zero Point #1
Batman comes to Fornite in an exciting crossover with the mega popular fortnite game. Note there’s a bonus digital code including for an exclusive Harley Quinn fortnite skin included. A fun book that reaches across generations.
3. Black Knight Curse Of The Ebony Blade #2
Spinning out from recent adventures in the King in Black event the Black Knight is back in his own story. We enjoyed issue #1 and this has been one of a handful of books we jumped on as a result of reading King in Black.

Batman finds himself fighting crime in Europe after a deadly crime draws him to the continent that hits to close to home for Bruce Wayne. Legendary Comic writer Tom Taylor is taking on the caped crusader where he will throw some new villains and new allies Batman’s way.
3. Way of X #1
The Xmen have made their own heaven in Krakoa and every mutant is welcomed yet not every mutant wishes to stay. Nightcrawler decides to form a team full of some great mutants in Order to save Krakoa from anyone who dares to topple
mutantkind over. A new villain is lurking in the shadows of Krakoa and nightcrawler will be the one to stop it !
