One of our favorite things to do at the shop is sharing our weekly pull lists and must reads with one another. It’s one of the best ways we’ve been finding new things to read or even reasons to return to old favorites. We thought it would be fun to start sharing our weekly picks of books we’re most excited about. Our hope is that in sharing our excitement you might discover something new to add to your list. Check back weekly on Tuesday evenings for lists from John, Chandler and Jason & Jake. Each has a different background and perspective to share.

Spoiler alert: Also check back in the weeks to come for a chance to win some cool prizes including some of the books we’ll feature on our lists.

1. Milestone Returns #0

The Milestone universe was introduced early in my comic collecting days with characters and teams like Icon, Blood Syndicate and most importantly Static. After years of promises, DC finally gets the group back together for a relaunch. I’m excited to see what new stories the crew has in store.

2. Made in Korea #1

Biological birth is no longer an option in the world presented in this series. Instead, parents order their children from a catalog and then raise the AI as it ages. What is the importance of family in that type of society? I love a good sci-fi story so I’m on-board for this six issue miniseries.

3. Stargirl Spring Break Special #1

While many people’s love of Geoff Johns was formed and sealed with Green Lantern Rebirth and Flash Rebirth, for me JSA and Stars and STRIPE were what proved his writing worth. Based on his late sister, Courtney Whitmore proved to be a character that was heroic and carried on the Golden Age mantle while making her own way in the world. If Johns brings half the heart and emotion he did from the original series to this one shot, readers are in for a treat.

1. Milestone Returns: Infinite Edition #0

Milestone comics is back! DC has finally come to their senses and resurrected these amazing characters. I love all of these amazing heroes but Static will always have a special place in my heart because if the Saturday morning cartoon. Representation in comics has always been an issue and Milestone comics did everything the could back in the day to kick that door wide open. I am excited to get read about these characters again and from some of the original creators.

2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #3

Its finally here. Eastman’s epic finale to this futurescape of Last Ronin. I’m not even going to hype this one up, it speaks for itself.
