We are turning up the heat here at Brainstorm Comics and Gaming, bringing in more hot comic books. There are lots of spicy peppers still waiting to be graded at CBCS and CGC, so the heat will keep on coming. As always, we recommend you have a glass of water nearby when handling the Brainstorm Comics and Gaming spicy peppers!

So what spicy peppers do we have in……..?

FANTASTIC FOUR #72

CBCS GRADE: 3.5

IMPORTANCE: Iconic Jack Kirby Cover

This is one of the milder hot comic books we got back in this grouping. Regardless, it’s an awesome cover by The King himself.

SILVER SURFER #5

CBCS GRADE: 6.5

IMPORTANCE: Award Winning Story

Silver Surfer anticipation continues to grow within the comic community as fans are anxiously awaiting to see Fantastic Four and this character added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Once he appears, all of his appearances are sure to take off into space with him!

NICK FURY, AGENT OF SHIELD #1

CBCS GRADE: 5.5

IMPORTANCE: First Nick Fury ongoing; first Scorpio

While Nick Fury has changed over the years, his importance to the Marvel Universe cannot be disputed. Jim Steranko put an indelible mark on the character with these trippy covers that are still iconic today. A great wall piece for any collector.

SILVER SURFER #2

CBCS GRADE: 7.5

IMPORTANCE: First appearance of Badoon; early issue of Silver Surfer’s first ongoing series. These will be even hotter commodities once the Surfer makes his MCU debut. This is an absolutely beautiful copy.

TALES OF SUSPENSE #97

CBCS GRADE: 5.5

IMPORTANCE: First appearance of Whiplash; first meeting of Captain America and Black Panther. Not only do we have a first appearance of one of Iron Man key nemeses, we also have the added significance of Cap and Panther meeting. As BP’s popularity continue to grow, so will the importance of this issue.

AVENGERS #43

CBCS GRADE: 3.5

IMPORTANCE: 1st appearance of Red Guardian, Black Widow’s husband. According to the Key Collector app, Marvel trademarked the term Red Guardian: Generations in July. As we all know, appearances within the MCU cause the books to climb in price.

AVENGERS #48

CBCS GRADE: 4.0

IMPORTANCE: 1st appearance of the 3rd Black Knight; 1st appearance of Aragorn. While Eternals was not as good as comic fans were hoping, there are many promises that the Black Knight character will have a lot of importance in this phase and future phases of the MCU. Once he is explored more deeply, we believe his popularity will grow.

TOMB OF DRACULA #1

CBCS GRADE: 4.0

IMPORTANCE: 1st appearance of Dracula, Van Helsing and Frank Drake. With a new Blade movie on the horizon, interest in the Tomb of Dracula series is growing. More importantly, even without any news on that front, this series features phenomenal art by Gene Colan and great writing by Gerry Conway. Plus, unforgettable covers by inimitable Neal Adams.

SILVER SURFER #4

CBCS GRADE: 6.5

IMPORTANCE: 2nd appearance of Mephisto. Most iconic cover from the series? In our eyes, yes. First battle of Thor and Silver Surfer. One word describes this book: WOW! This is the kind of cover that speaks to comic fans. You can almost feel the pain coming Silver Surfer’s way.
